In this club students learn about how ceramics are made. Students pick a three dimensional molded and fired clay piece to paint. They experience different painting techniques and choose accessories to apply to their clay sculpture. The finished piece can be used as a beautiful holiday gift. It is advisable to wear an old shirt to cover clothes while using acrylic paints on ceramics.
The Ceramic Club is overseen by Mrs. Pacinello (5th grade) and Mrs. Albanese (Art). It is open to students in grades 5 through 8. The club runs every Wednesday from 2:30-3:30 for six weeks in the Fall and six weeks in the Spring. Permission slips are distributed approximately 3 weeks before the start of each session. A student space in the club is reserved on a first-come-first-served permission slip basis for each season. Much to our chagrin, the Ceramic Club can only hold 24 students.
